steve265 2
First time poster – well, actually second time (intro’d myself). Want to leap from 2.xx to MB3. Need some guidance before the actual downloads and installations. 1 – Are these proper steps before installing MB3 or any apps? A – Uninstall MB 2.xx B – Uninstall Media Center Master C – Remove existing metadata D – Remove existing xml documents 2 – Is an uninstaller like Revo required to clean up everything for 1 and 2? 3 – Anything else need to be considered? Thanks for any and all input. s
BATTLE DONKEY 98
I would say don't uninstall mb2 yet. First install the server, go thru the server setting it up and even changing watched status on your media if u didn't use the trakt plugin to do it for u. As for MCM u also don't have to delete it, but I would suggest letting the server take over the metadata fetching, because it is fetching info that MCM doesn't and may cause some issues later. You don't need to delete ur existing data, MB3 well use it and u can refresh it to pick up any missing data. Once that's done, go ahead and uninstall MB2 and install MBClassic and u should be up and running. It's only MB2 and MBClassic that can't coexist on the same PC, but u can try out MBTheatre too if u want to give it a shot, just keep in mind that it's not fully featured yet as it's in the middle of an overhaul
