Hi,

My movies are not showing up in my genres folder. Not too sure if it's a server or classic issue.

This is my current versions:

Server 3.0 5031.21343

Classic 3.074.0 b10-3.1

I filter all my movies by genre so I have a folder for each genre, for example, action, comedy etc but when I go into these folders, I have no movies. They are empty folders.

When I take the filter off and leave it on none, all my movies show.

Is this a bug in MBClassic as I just updated to the above version today but prior to updating filter by genre was working fine.

Thanks

That log looks like you just went straight into your movie collection and played something.  I don't see any attempt to index anything.

Sorry ebr, I forgot I set index back to none so I could browse my movies.

Here's the log with the index set back to genre

Okay, I can reproduce this.  I'm not sure if this is a server problem or a MBC one but all indexing appears to be broken.

For now, you can use the built-in "Movies By Genre" view.

So would this same issue also cause indexing by year not to show up?  Because I noticed that problem this past weekend.

If so, what are the chances we get a Movies by Year folder as a standard MBC folder?

All indexing in MBC was broken by the recent server release.

I'm trying to re-write it in a different way so it will work again before the next server beta.

Thread HiJack!!!  well kind of, but thought I would post here rather than start a new thread as it is related to MoviebyGenre function

Is there a way to...

1. Rename the MoviesbyGenre

2. Give is a position in the VF list on EHS.   i.e. sortbyName  001 to put it first on EHS.

The server doesn't recognise it as I guess it's a MBC only feature.  Could it possibly create a VF folder when selected and delete the VF folder when deselected. It would probably require a restart.

I think it would give the user a standard interface (web) to arrange/rename and add fanart easily.

Thanks Ebr

No, that is purely a client view.  The server will never know anything about it.  Any options like name or sort position would have to be implemented in MBC.  You can create IBN images for it though.

I thought as much, shame (maybe after you finished your plugin, you may like to take a look at this) nudge, nudge, wink, wink
