Hey everyone,

I don't know if this has been asked before. I was wondering if there is an easy way to transfer video files from computer to my Shield TV Server...What I do now is to disconnect the external drive from Shield TV and connect it to my computer to transfer the videos...maybe network accesing, I don't know.

Anyone has experience with this topic that could give me a tip or advice?

Thanks in advanced :)

Enable the following on your Shield

  • Settings
  • Device Preferences
  • Storage
  • Transfer files over local network

The Shield will then become part of your network places on your Windows PC.  Or, you can use explorer to connect to \\Shield (assuming you're using the default) or \\IP

Once you see it just drag and drop files from your PC to and folder on your Shield

In my case it does not appear ...

This is the option that appears to me. It will give you an access password. Then I went to my desktop, entered the Shield IP on the file browser, and it asks for the password...you enter it and there you go.

Try checking your SHIELD ip address, and then type it manually on your file explorer. That's what I did.

File explorer, not web browser. Type it like that: \\SHIELDIP

Launch the web browser like the last picture that I upload.
