dcol 165
You are correct, The stream uses the VPN via xTeVe without buffering. I looked at the VPN traffic monitor and saw activity when playing a stream. I will try it now without the buffering. dcol 165
When I look at the xTeVe GUI it shows xTeve 1K buffering even though I selected no buffering. So you cannot turn the buffering off. Which mean last nights failures was a result of the VPN and not xTeVe buffering. groenator 11
I've done it by using nextPVR (Version 5) and connect to emby using the nextPVR plugin, or using the iptv-proxy app. Both, nextPvr and iptv-proxy are docker instances behind VPN (you need another docker instance for your VPN). I used xteve before but I am not a very big fan of it. Plus, it seems that the developer is not adding any new features. Anyway, if you use one of these two you don't need to put emby behind VPN. I found nextPVR working better with recording and TV guide, it populates the TV show/movies metadata (if available) nicely. NextPVR makes the metadata available even if your EPG source doesn't have it. With iptv-proxy I am having issues with recording and EPG doesn't have any metadata because the source of my EPG Is without it, otherwise everything works fine. This is the URL of the iptv-proxy app. https://github.com/pierre-emmanuelJ/iptv-proxy https://hub.docker.com/r/pierro777/iptv-proxy NextPVR: https://hub.docker.com/r/nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64 VPN: https://hub.docker.com/r/qmcgaw/private-internet-access Edited March 26, 2021 by groenator
vdrover 42
@SpaceboyAre you recording routinely? XTeVe always caused my recordings to end early, and now I have the same with threadfin. Neither use buffering.

If your VPN has Wireguard protocol you can still access your computer using your regular IP address eventhough to the rest of the world sees your VPN address. groenator 11
Is your emby running inside docker? If it does, all you need is to add a vpn service inside docker-compose. Then when you spin up emby it will run behind the VPN and your emby server can be accessible via your localhost.
