Specifically, how does playback and seek speed compare to a HTPC/Shield client? How does it compare to a Roku client? (I recently switched to a Shield from a Roku Ultra due to the annoying delays when starting/seeking on Roku). I'm considering using the Chromecast with Google TV on a kitchen TV. What formats does the Chromecast with Google TV direct play? Can it handle surround sound audio formats (e.g., local decoding) or does it need to transcode on the server? I assume it is able to direct play substantially less than what a Shield can handle? Is the wifi sufficient for those of you with strong wireless networks, or are you using the optional ethernet adapter? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
