I am on 4.4.3.0-1  but there is no update available in package center to the newest version.  My dashboard says the following:

A new version of Emby Server is available!

Version 4.5.4.0 is now available for download.

Please login to DSM and go to Package Center to update.

No, the old repository is no longer being used.  The only way up update Emby now is manually until they can get it added to the Synology store

1. Remove the old repository from PC

2. Download the correct spk for your NAS and install manually

Ah ok - is there an ETA for being added to the store?

And are there enough enhancements in the newest to risk an issue DE installing?

Release notes for the build since you updated

Emby Server 4.5 Released - Announcements - Emby Community

Emby Server 4.5.1 Released - Announcements - Emby Community

Emby Server 4.5.3 Released - Announcements - Emby Community

The biggest enhancement for Synology users will be the change from mono to .NET core which is faster

As far as when it will make it to the store the last I read is that Synology was backed up because of COVID, but @Luke may have an update because I haven't seen anything else in awhile

So the instructions say:

  1. Install Emby Server using the Synology Web interface.
  2. Start Emby Server using the Synology Web interface.

--  you added to remove the old repository.  So I should go into DSM package manager, uninstall (?) the current EMBY server, and click manual install and navigate to the downloaded SPK?  Or can I just go straight to manual install and it will overwrite the current one?

No, don't uninstall Emby server.  The spk will upgrade over your old install.

Just remove the repository from package center where you had the link to the old Synology server where updates came from in the past.

Once done just click the "Manual" button in Package Center and point it to the spk you downloaded.  Then just keep clicking, OK, Yes, etc

It's still in Synology's review process.
