psykix 97
@@darwindeeds Shiv, Here's the logs. The iPad app lets me select the internal subtitle, but it doesn't actually display the subs. I tried selecting the subs at 1:44 if that helps any. Transcode logs included. logs.zip
psykix 97
@@Luke I tried remote playing the above movies to MBT using the dashboard remote control. Blue Is The Warmest Color auto selected the subtitles, and they appeared ok. Presumably due to my LAV Splitter subtitle rules, and the audio being French? I tried playing Avatar to MBT and in the subtitle list, I had dutch and English. I couldn't select Dutch, but I could select English. However no subtitles appeared on MBT. Should I be able to select the internal PGS subs and display them? I get exactly the same behaviour using the iPad as the remote. Log attached. psykix 97
Doh.. ignore. I can confirm it does work - I suspect my Avatar movie is screwed. Tried with Pulp Fiction and it works fine!
psykix 97
Shiv, This plays ok on the iPad :- This one doesn't (and they seem to be the same type of subs) :- They both display subs fine on MBT, and also when I remote play from either dashboard or iPad to MBT. psykix 97
Shiv, Further to this, this is the media info from the subs that I can actually select but they refuse to show - even after leaving it playing for a couple of minutes. The following 2 movies don't even list any subs for me to select at all :-
darwindeeds 356
I can't understand why subtitles of the same type play from certian file and not from others. Luke, do you have any idea why this is happening? i couldn't find anything from the logs.
Luke 37167
no. can you attach plain text logs please? thanks.
psykix 97
Ok, done some more testing this morning. The Grand Budapest Hotel - subs played fine. Blue Is The Warmest Color - no subs show. Avatar - English stream 0:2, Spanish stream 0:3 work fine. Blue Is The Warmest Color is the only one I've found so far where the subs don't work on iPad but do on MBT. Maybe it's just an anomaly. I get these messages in the transcode logs - but also for the subtitles that work, so maybe harmless. psykix 97
I've made a 3 min sample of the problematic movie - confirmed the sample subs play in MBT but not iPad. Just realised they don't show in the web player either.. https://app.box.com/s/2zz3h8hpi637lsceejhf Further to this - I just had a thought and tried turning off MadVR and used the internal player in MBT and the subs don't show! Maybe it's just something goofy with the movie - but then I dunno why MadVR shows the subs ok? Edited August 5, 2014 by psykix
