steveblair 13
I just installed the Roku Beta and noticed an issue that does not occur on the regular app. With backdrops turned on, if you go into "Genre", while scrolling through the different movies the back drop and screen flickers. It almost looks like it's trying to load all the images you skipped when you scroll down a few rows for example. This behavior doesn't happen while I'm scrolling through under the "Movie" tab. BTW, this issue occurs on my TCL Series 4 TV (4K), but NOT on the Roku Ultra I have connected to my older 1080p TV.
ebr 14913
Hi. That sounds like the old "overloading memory" issue on some Roku devices. @speechles can you see if we are trying to load too large of images in this scenario?
speechles 1917
@ebr Yes I can take a look and see what is going on there. Odd that Genre would show a backdrop. That might be part of the problem.
speechles 1917
@steveblair Apologies for the problem. What size are your genre images? Have you customized them at all or are these the normal 4-slice mosaic? We think we have identified the problem. Knowing what size your genre images were will confirm what we think. Thanks for the report and keep them coming. Happy Holidays.
steveblair 13
Thanks for looking into this. I do have customized genre images. Each one is 600x600 (72 dpi) and range from 230-390 KB in size. Edited December 10, 2020 by steveblair
