Depending how powerful your CPU is, disable the "hardware acceleration". I HAVE to use CC, and have resorted to the HDHomeRun app for live TV and Kodi running a HDHomeRun app to watch my recording........... Don't have to do that anymore......... My server is a Ryzen 3700x with a GTX 1060 6Gb GPU but version 4.5.4.0 killed closed captions or pause/play (Time shifting) for me. Does Time Shifting work for you?
