Hi,

I bought premier to be able to use hardware transcoding, but I just found (just tested it) that the image quality is terrible

I have tried several videos (avi and mpeg) and the same thing happens: image corruption

I have followed these instructions:

ffmpeg-transcode-ce1850d2-2772-4913-8e25-bb1a31f1d5b4_1.txt hardware_detection-63742276132.txt embyserver.txt

Does this only happen on xvid avi files?

I have tried with mpeg and avi.

I'm going to try to force change the streaming speed.

The same :(

For what it's worth, I see it uses VAAPI, and it won't let me select QSV.
Maybe using QSV would look better?

Hi,

I have tried from the emby app and it looks perfectly, without problems (but because on the mobile it did not do transcoding).
I have tried lowering the quality to form the transcoding, and it looks bad too.

In Windows it looks bad in both Chrome and Edge

Regards

No, with all codecs

Can you provide the log from an h264 example? Thanks.

OK, I try tomorrow.

And, now, I can't disable the hardware acceleration.

I can wait for an hour, but it is not saved. And not in advanced mode either.

I won't disable hardware transcoding since that was the reason for me to buy Emby Premiere...Software transcoding is far too slow on my machine. Hardware Transcoding works fine on Plex on the same machine, no issues...

Hardware transcoding continues to fail, so at least for now I use software transcoding

I also want hardware acceleration (I bought premier for that, and to help the project), but while I fix it, it leaves me unable to see the movies

By the way, if it's important, I have Emby in Docke

  Emby-Server:
    image: emby/embyserver:latest
    container_name: Emby-Server
    hostname: emby-server
    environment:
      - PUID=1000
      - PGID=1001
      - GIDLIST=109,44
    volumes:
      - /docker/emby:/config
      - /mnt:/mnt
      - /mnt/GDrive:/mnt/GDrive:shared
      - /docker/swag:/docker/swag:shared
    devices:
      - /dev/dri:/dev/dri
    ports:
      - 8096:8096
      - 8920:8920
    depends_on:
      - RClone-Mount
      - EmbyStat
    restart: unless-stopped

Mine is also running in Docker...but anyway, Plex is also running on the same machine in docker container. There it works like a charm with

devices:
      - /dev/dri:/dev/dri

I have looked for information to test if the hardware acceleration of my computer works, and if it works.
So the problem seems to be with docker or with emby

@LukeWill someon look into this? As I said before and @LeidenSpaitold, it's not hardware related. And it can not be docker related, since it works just fine with HW Decoding and Encoding in Docker using Plex.

If nobody cares I want you to refund my premiere lifetime subscribtion since I can not use Emby as advertised...
