Smiehu 5 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Sometimes I have these same movies in two or more Libraries (because of specific users privileges). This wasted a lot of disk space. It is possible to create a shortcut to movie between Libraries? The original movie is in one Library physically on disk but in another Library I add this movie like a maybe shortcut?
PenkethBoy 2066 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 a symlink to the original file should work
ebr 15439 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Hi. I would suggest instead using a common location for both libraries and put the item there. Some types of links on some file systems may work but my suggestion definitely will.
PenkethBoy 2066 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 not in his case as he appears to want to have them separate for diff user cases

I think what I suggested will work. I do this for stuff for my kids and me. There are folders just they see, folders just I see and folders we all see. New Folder based Access Control
