Emby for Kodi vs PKC/Jellyfin for Kodi

I hope its ok to ask this here, as the original work was done by Emby and all the others forked from it, and give credit to Emby. 

I see  that over time the different addons have diverged and no longer in sync. I don't know how much of the code is shared anymore. But they each add their own features. 

I wanted to ask if the devs talk to each other about possibly collaborating on features or maintaining a common codebase and changes specific to each server. As they are all open source I believe this would be a good thing.

Any thoughts?
