Question about my file date modified timestamps

Hello,

I've just finished batch remuxing all of my movies to remove all subtitles.

The problem is, emby won't detect these changes, despite doing multiple library scans and server restarts.

So, when playing a movie, the subtitle options are still there, but obviously if selected it ends playback with the "no stream.." error because the subtitles don't exist.

I've confirmed that moving a movie out of the library location, doing a library scan, re-adding the movie, and doing another scan fixes the issue, but I'd prefer not to have to move my entire library as I think my collections would disappear, no?

If anyone knows how to fix this issue, or if its safe to simply move my entire library and rescan it, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Not seen this - have done this several times - replacing existing file

dont think it has anything to do with the file container

How did you replace them - you dont now have two copies in the folder?

RTM usually picks this up within a minute and emby scans them in as the file time/date will have changed even if the filename did not

What server version?

Did you check the log file to see if emby did see the change?

The program I used uses mkvtoolnix. It writes the new file to like Title.mkv.remux or something. Then, when it's done, it deletes the original Title.mkv and renames the remux.

After reading what you said about the time/date, I believe the culprit is likely this option in the program.

thats why then - emby thinks they have not changed

I started running the movies through the batch again with that option turned off and now emby's working as should. Thanks for your help ~
