whitestrat13 33
I know media browser supports having multiple files for each movie. I have successfully put blu ray mkv 's and m4v's in the same folder and seen the server select the m4v for devices that don't support mkv. Can the server select an additional file of a smaller size when streaming to a device with a lower resolutions? So can I have both a 1080p and a 720p file and the 720p file will auto select and direct play to my roku connected to an older tv? I'm trying to avoid transcoding, since my server only has a first gen dual core i5. I have plenty of space to store the additional files for a 720p library. Thanks. I love MB , and it's awesome to see how far it has come!
Luke 37304
It's up to the client to go through the list and pick the most efficient one based on what it can and can't direct play. not every client supports this yet, but the web client, roku and windows 8.1 do, at the very least.
