Hi,

Looking at the specs for that card it looks like it's a single tuner card???

Most people would want to use a quad based card so you get 4 tuners available to use at any given time.

Thanks for the response cayars. Good catch!

I was so focussed on finding a card that supported Freesat and Freeview I didn't even think of that.

I guess I could just get 2 of them? Or possibly this and a pair of these?

In principle, there shouldn't be a problem with multiple cards should there?

Being that I'm in the USA and don't get Freesat or Freeview I've got zero personal experience with what might be best.

I think you would be better served hearing from other UK members in what they use or would recommend.

I just wanted to point out the "single tuner" things I saw.

I receive Freeview. I've had a HDHomerun for a few weeks now (2 tuner, but there is a quad available) and it's excellent. Really easy to set up, including in Emby.

The main difference is that rather than fitting into your PC, you connect it to your router, and it allows you to record/watch TV on any suitable device on your network (even independently of Emby, if you so choose).

Thanks emdubya77. I may yet go down that route. The issue there for me is that I'm in Ireland, so would only then receive the Irish channels (on our freeview equivalent). To get BBC etc. I need freesat support. I don't think HDHomerun supports satellite?

To answer the original question, yes with wintv 8.5 it should work just fine.

Thanks Luke. I’ll order one this week I reckon then.
