hello

On my Beelink GT-King with Android TV rom, movies with Dolby Digital Plus have no audio. So as I don't want serverside transcode/conversion at all, I'm wondering whether it's possible to do a e-ac3 to ac3 conversion on the device? "Downmix to stereo" is not really an option as it would also affect other formats which work fine and I'd like to keep the surround channels.

Has anybody made the same experience on the GT-King?

Stats for nerds show

audio codec: Dolby+ (direct)

It isn't possible right now but we'd like to try and make it so.

However, are you not getting audio because you turned off the option to allow audio conversion on the server?

Thanks. But at this point (after recognizing a server conversion is not allowed) shouldn't Emby detect that the device is not capable of playing dd+ and downmix it to stereo even if down mix to stereo is not enabled?

No, the app isn't aware of the fact you disabled server conversion.  There is a warning under that option telling you it can cause playback problems.

Will the same file under Kodi, down mix it to stereo?  Just curious.

Pretty sure Kodi got an option to convert to ac3

Thanks, then I‘ll keep my fingers crossed you‘ll be able to implement that feature.
