Admin 347
This is largely another infrastructure release. Here's the highlights: Xbmc metadata support out of the box (plugin is now obsolete) New video player layout in the web client Improved seeking while transcoding for the web client & roku, coming soon to other apps New mobile tap-hold menus Improved log page Subtitle download scheduled task Latest item groupings Season overview fetching from Tmdb Episode image fetching from Tmdb Chapter images now part of regular refresh Now with Built-In Xbmc Metadata Support Xbmc metadata support is now included out of the box and requires no configuration. It just works. For new users coming from Xbmc, we can read your nfo's and get you up and running very quickly. New Video Player Design The new video player in the web client is much prettier and will make use of your logo images. The mobile version is also much simpler now and takes advantage of the browser's native controls. New Mobile Tap Hold Menus The new mobile tap hold menus will give you quick access to all of your favorite functions. src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0a9cd9afca_Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' /> Better Seeking While Transcoding You will notice this in the mobile web client, and in the Roku beta. Other clients will soon update to take advantage of this. New Log Page If you need to post a log for debugging purposes, now you can access any of your log files from within the web client, under Help -> Logs. New List View Many users prefer a plain list view while navigating, and we've listened. It's available on several screens. src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0adeabd1da_Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' /> Subtitle Download Scheduled Task Subtitles are normally downloaded when new videos or added or refreshed manually. But now the scheduled task can help fill in the gaps as well. Latest Item Groupings The web client will now group latest items together by series or album. src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0aa9b633fe_Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' /> Season Overview Fetching from Tmdb src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0aad9c2ee6_Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' /> Episode Images from Tmdb Tvdb remains the default tv image fetcher, but Tmdb has been added as an option due to the wonderful quality of their episode images (sometimes 1080p and beyond). src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0ab47291b8_pwJclDS7UQ7VHriq9wEJoKQxtvr.jpg' alt='Posted Image' /> Chapter Images These are now generated when new content is added, in addition to the scheduled task. We want to remove the need to run scheduled tasks manually and leave them to what they're supposed to be - scheduled tasks. Security Overhaul Api security has been revamped, and going forward, applications will require either your password or your permission via an api key in order to communicate with Media Browser. We are in discussion with both Sickbeard and Nzbdrone to receive notifications from them when new content is added. You'll be able to generate api keys for both of these applications which you will then enter into their configuration. If they don't have a key, they will not have access to your Media Browser Server. You can be sure we're doing everything we can to secure your data. Note: existing Media Browser apps will be given a grace period to migrate to the new authentication system. src='http://mediabrowser.tv/community/uploads/inline/2/53c0acb1915ff_Untitled.png' alt='Posted Image' /> View the full article
