The Baron 64 Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 The praise is much appreciated. By the way, feel free to make requests for other genres or different images for existing genres.
HTPCity_Planner 13 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Really really nice contribution. thank you!

The Baron 64 Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 I decided, in a moment of weakness, to create poster formatted versions of the genre icons I've created thus far. If anyone has a notion to make use of any of the Genre icon's I've made thus far they can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53787006/genre-icons.zipHere is a look at some of the new icons I've come up with: 3

The Baron 64 Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 I used the instructions found in this post so I could use theTV Genre icons I created: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/4868-tvgenre-icons/ There are 14 TV Genre icons available, in both Thumb and Poster formats: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53787006/genre-icons.zip
Lee 210 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Not being an experienced GIMP user how do I drop a new image onto the template and "monochrome" it?? I fancy these as top level icons for TV/Movies/Music....
The Baron 64 Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 So, what I normally do is have another Gimp2 image open, In this, I can modify the image I want to use. In this image, I go to Image - Mode - Greyscale. This will convert the image you wish to use into a Black and White image. I then go to Colors - Brightness/Contrast and change the contrast to make the image more stark. You then copy this image into the template you are using, which is still in RGB mode and then move this image behind the colour layer. You can simlpy right click the image you want to use in the Genre icon and rightr click & open with Gimp2. 1
The Baron 64 Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 I have addes Country Genres, in case anybody splits films into languages, in Genres: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53787006/genre-icons.zip 3
The Baron 64 Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 @@Lee, one other thing. After you copy the image you want to use as a background, you can choose to Paste as... Layer and the image will automatically added to the Genre icon you are creating as a Layer. Makes life a little easier. 1
Mfusick 38 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Is it possible to have stuff like this auto install with MBT as a default...
StealthDefender 29 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 @@The Baron: Is it possible to make one more Genre Images Poster/thumb for "Nature". There are some Dinosaurs Documentarys and the Red Bull Stratos Movie in there. Would be nice. I am a very poor guy in using gimp/photoshop and other design programms...... Would be great THX and Greetz Stealth
The Baron 64 Posted December 10, 2014 Author Posted December 10, 2014 I created a couple of Nature images as requested. If you have an image in mind or a colour that you would like used, just let me know. Anyway, both images are in both poster and thumb formats: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/53787006/genre-icons.zip 2
