Playlist Utilize Database instead of File location

I have been slowly upgrading video qualities and have found that it breaks the playlist and I have to rebuild it each time I change a file, or at least add the new file, when I look at the xml file for the playlist I can see that it is looking for the specific file location.

It would be great if the playlists could utilize what I assume is a database because when I delete a movie have already watched and add in the better copy it still knows I have watched it.

Could this be an option to keep playlists updated without keeping track of physical file changes?

Hi, it's tricky when you take into consideration home videos and things that don't have external identifiers that can be used to identify them.
