Heckler 147
With the way MBS has evolved in the last 12 months, I have completely ditched every other metadata grabber I had tried, and solely rely on the built in one now. I know it's a work in progress, and I would like to request the following option/s be added to the way it collects metadata. Basically, I would like to be able to exclude certain metadata from being collected at all. The theme I use doesn't display, most of the data and I can honestly say I have no interest in knowing what the budget was, or the what a critic though of it. I'd also like to be able to stop it from downloading people that I consider to be superfluous to requirements... such as crew and writers. Again, these people aren't displayed within the theme, but they do end up being added to 'People' and the vast majority have no images available anywhere to grab. So you end up with thousands of blanks when using the browser to check on metadata. I think it may also help people to remove a lot of clutter if it can be set to clear out old data that's now been set to ignore. So MB geniuses... can it be done, is anyone willing to attempt it and more importantly... Is it something you feel would add to the MBS experience?

CWNashvegas 170
As someone who has ranted heartily in the past about having critic ratings and community ratings foisted on me, I fully support this request. And though, as a classic tv collector, I make heavy use of crew, writers, guest stars, etc. (and would prefer to make more use of such within MB) I fully support Heckler's desire to banish them from his database.

The ratings would make more sense if they could be more generic. To be precise, something along the line of nested data.
Koleckai Silvestri 1150
I don't mind downloading or the space required for metadata. However a bit more control over what is shown would be nice.
Debug Mode 2
Could this be done via plugins? Optional libraries like the game browser still need static implementations in the main program for tags. If these could be provided by itself, Wayne Luke could use a lib_movie_generic.dll for his collection, while I could throw together a lib_music_audiophile.dll to be able to add further content. ebr 15186
I would definitely support a way to limit cast and crew. One director, one writer and n (configurable) number of Primary Actors. I think doing this would be very helpful because browsing people right now is very hard because of all the noise - plus it would provide a performance increase in these areas as we could probably eliminate more than 50% of the people being tracked. In theory it's possible, but one thing we've learned so far is that there are enough features as it is for our ui developers to implement. If you start isolating features into separate plugins or libraries then it pretty much guarantees it will never be used by any of our apps.
