MI Box S and 5.1 audio issues

Hi,

 

I have a MI Box S and a Apple TV.

On Apple TV, the server transcode all media and audio works correctly.

On MI Box S, always use direct stream and audio output is only stereo. On Nerd Statistics, shows local downmix. If I reduce the quality to force transcode, audio 5.1 works correctly. But video quality is very poor.

Can I force transcode without reduce quality, like a Apple TV?

Try the latest beta of the Android TV app, it fixed that for me in one of the latest releases. ;-)

I'm using the latest beta (1.8.00g) but still stereo without transcode.

Are you using a beta server too?

Yes, I am also on the latest server beta.

So, it might have also been a change in the server or a software update to the Mi Box itself that solved it for me.

 

What I can say for sure is that I had that as well and it's gone now (AC3 gets passed through now, instead of downmixed). ;-)
