Mkilbride 76
Well. For my movies it seems to work fine. I've just attempted switching from Plex, as I noticed Emby DirectPlays files a lot more often than Plex. At least the video portion that is. Seems there's no way to stream FLAC to PCM or something, as I only get AAC. Same with Plex really, but was just hoping, ha. The proble is anime. 8-bit, 10-bit, HEVC, H265, H264 ect. Some of it DirectPlays, but a lot of times I just get "Unsupported video profile", at first I thought it was the subs, so I tried turning them off, but no, it still happens. Plex is the same. However some that DirectPlay in Emby do not in Plex, so it's a little confusing. https://i.imgur.com/GGs02xg.png - For example, this will always transcode. No DirectPlay. It says Unsupported Video Profile in "stats for nerds". Then a series like this, will DirectPlay: https://i.imgur.com/xjhI6nC.png I can tell there is container differences, but shouldn't both be able to Direct Play, I mean it's a NVIDIA Shield - they can play anything. Just curious.
ebr 14968
Hi. It is the h264 High 10 profile that is not supported.
Mkilbride 76
Ah. Is there any potential for it to be in the future? Hi10 is a rather popular format...I guess I could try replacing all my Hi10 content, but sadly I renamed it all using TMM just recently...argh lol. Is there a program to search files by encoding profile? If it's only a few series, I might consider alternative encodes. I'd still probably not be able to do it, but sometimes I really do wish I had. That said, I searched for the tiles TMM could not rename...and way too many of my series are Hi10 and currently the best quality releases for the series. Replacing them with lower quality rips simply to DirectPlay is sadly not an option.
