prydda 2 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 When I’ve stopped a movie and later resume playback crashes and kodi restarts - is this related to embycon? Also this is a fresh install kodi log https://paste.kodi.tv/amatonugam crash log https://discourse.coreelec.org/uploads/short-url/3jpEyiXUu1VtzH2ad58Y9rDktQm.log
bowe 1 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 This is with both 4k and 1080p movies. Tv shows do resume as intended.
TeamB 2414 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 You could try trans-coding or direct playback in the playback settings in embycon. Kodii crashing is usually a media issue
bowe 1 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) What would be the difference between http stream and file direct path? Nvm, didn't work with direct path Edited May 2, 2020 by bowe
TeamB 2414 Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Direct path is something to try. It plays the media back directly from your file share instead of going through Emby. You may needs to set up a file share your kodi client can access and set up path substitution in Embry to get this to work.
prydda 2 Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 I don't have access to the file share, only through emby.
Luke 40064 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Can you attach the emby server log from that timeframe as well? thanks.
TeamB 2414 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I don't have access to the file share, only through emby. Does this man you are using someone else's server? That will limit your options I guess. Try transcoding the playback and see if that helps.
prydda 2 Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 I've no access to the emby server aswell, it's a friends friend running it. Nothing weird going on in the crash log? It's just resume on movies. Playback is working fine elsewhere, got a powerful SBC so no need to transcode.
TeamB 2414 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 the transcode was to test a different approach to see if it worked.
