FR Consolidate People and Artists, add Types and Selection Options

Hi,

 

Having People and Artists separate creates lots of issues. I would like to see them combined. Adding types Artist, Performer, Lyricist to the existing people roles.  

Adding selection options for the new types and composer.  

Composers are considered "people" but are pretty much impossible to get to as  you can't select on them in any people view (hunt thru 10,000+ "people" and click on them to see if they are a composer), in music views you have to drill down to an individual track and see if a composer tag exists and was read. To make things more fun, Musicbrainz seems to be breaking out Lyricists

 

MB3 seems to support most of the combination already (at least the web client anyway)

 

 

Unfortunately the "songs" are only tracks identified by composer tags.

 

The artist view only shows "songs" identified by artist tag. If you have "people" in groups, solo albums, collaborations etc, this quickly falls apart. It is like an actor, they can be in a movie, a main character in a TV series or a guest star.

Please consider combining them. This also would help solve the metadata issues.
