Hi, 

 

I have an Enigma2 Receiver with and installed HDHomerun plugin.

I have set up Live TV using HDHomeRun which is working.

 

Now I'd like to add XMLTV for th epg data. XMLTV is also working and I am getting the channel infos in Emby.

 

The problem I have is, that it seems that not all channels are mapped correctly that on many channels I cannot see the EPG info. 

 

Many channel names have some special character which I am not sure if this is the problem (see attached files).

 

As I want to use also for more Live TV it would be perfect if epg will work for all channels.

 

Would be great if someone has some tips if this can solved.

Before I had installed VU+ Plugin and channelnames are imported correctly. After changing to HDHomerun some correct channels names are deleted and replaced with names with special characters.

in the Metadata Manager the channel names are party changed and will alway be done after reading the xmltv channels (attached)

Just had checked how this will look like with Plex - and here you have the chance to map the channels in a very smoth way so that all EPG are available (if not autodetected) - so if a (manual) mapping would be possible where I can 

match the channels that would be pretty helpful.

If you go to Live TV under TV Guide Data Providers use the 3 dot menu that will show you the option

to map channels. Is that what you are looking for?

Is this Andy Blacs plugin that you are using?

 

If so, I also use it and don't see this problem.

 

It looks as though it is using the wrong code page in windows speak, i.e an 8 bit character set or some other wrong manipulation on the enigma.

 

I would make sure you are on the latest version and see if you can get support from him on the openvix pages.

So the sky channels. Are they coming from IPTV and have been blended in to the OTA channels?

These channels are coming from the receiver via the HDHomerun Plugin. 

Even if changed in Emby it will be overwritten - in case emby would replace the special char with an "space" everything would be perfect...

I know they are coming from the receiver BUT not all are OTA channels which is odd. It would appear that the subscription channels are the ones that have the dodgy characters.

 

Which is why i wondered How these channels were getting on to the enigma box.

or even better - if emby would display the channel names which are configured in the XMLTV file file would be better - not sure is this in an option (see attached example)

The issue is how the enigma is presenting the channels. This may be something Andy can help with.

 

First I need to understand WHERE the sky channels (and corruption) are coming from because they are NOT over the air AFAIK either by DVB/T or DVB/S so what is your enigma tuner configuration???

I am using Matze settings (http://matzesetting.brinkster.net/) and also using DreamBoxedit for sorting.

Ok so this is where the issue lies.

 

I would suggest you contact the "settings" author and ask about the channel names and/or contact Andy and ask him to make sure that the any hi-bit characters are changed to space.

Thanks very much for your help. Now it is pretty clear where the problem comes from. 

Checked the channel names in the receiver via shell and can see that:

 

 


s:0008:00c00000:0003:0085:22:0:0,"�Sky �Cinema �Fun�",p:SKY,C:0
s:0009:00c00000:0003:0085:22:0:0,"�Sky �Cinema �Action�",p:SKY,C:0

 

So no problem with the plugin or emby...
