hoschy 0
Greetings. Firstly, great job on Emby. I LOVE it. its really convenient But is there an option to only enable subtitles for specific shows/folders? I got a lot of anime Stuff. And i like to watch them japanese with english subs. But i have to enable subtitles every episode. Also i got a lot of already translated stuff where i dont need to see any subtitles (but they are available in the files/folders) the "intelligent" setting does not work for this, because audio in those files isnt named "english" or "german" (same goes for the subs), but "FLAC" (at least thats my guess why "intelligent" doesnt work) so .... long story short: can i get emby to always enable subtitles for specific folders (eg with a file in the folder or by marking a show with "always show subtitles") best regards ps: im using the latest LG WebOS version
CBers 6766
Do you videos have force subtitles? If so, you can set that as the default option, to only show FORCED subtitles. @@FrostByte might have more help.
FrostByte 5044
As far as I know there is no way to enable/disable subtitles for certain folders or shows. For me the best way is to always play "forced" subtitles like CBers mentioned. However, I only have a few all foreign language movies and can easily mark subtitles for those appropriately. The movies with only a few foreign language parts are usually marked appropriately already. This option would require you to set all the subtitles you have to forced which may be a lot of work if they aren't already marked so. Since you have a lot of foreign language video have you tried setting the preferred audio language to Any and checking always use default audio track. Then have subtitles set to English and smart. rbjtech 4223
If they are .srt files - then simply rename the subs to forced.srt - and then they will automatically play (assuming you have the subtitle 'forced' option turned on - see above). ie rename *.srt *.forced.srt will rename all the files in the current directory... .. if you have seasons in subdirectories - then something like .. for /r %x in (*.srt) do ren "%x" *.forced.srt should do the trick - but test first - it will modify the current and all subfolders you want to change ie \films \films\films1 \films\films2 \films\films3 if run in \films - it would also rename the .srt's in ..\films1,..\films2,..\films3 - if run in \films\films3 - it would just rename the .srt's in ..\films3 Careful ! - Do not run in the main drive root - or it will modify every .srt it finds on that drive ..
