This has been happing since I reinstalled Emby a bit ago, but only now have had the time to look into it.

I can physically access the directory of the music files from my Win 7 Emby hosted PC... \\nas1\media\music using windows explorer.

While in Emby, when clicking on any music file..I end up with a spinning circle...

I noticed it with phone clients as well.

Sometimes a error pops up.. for example on the Win 7 hosting computer....

There are port mapper errors in the log, but I have no idea what it means...and not even sure if it even applies to this.

Can anyone help? Emby logs attached.

ON a side note, I've noticed a few of the mobile devices set up to copy pic files to a directory on NAS1 and will not copy..

I thought it was a rights issue, but it's not as I can RWX on all files and directories on \\NAS1 with the local admin account on the Win 7 Emby host.

HI there, what time of day did you try to play this?

Posted

I'm sorry, first chance I got to come back.

I'll repeat steps and let you know...

What version of firefox? For testing purposes do you have another browser to compare to?

Posted

Just IE.11 and Firefox 74 x64.

What are you trying to play?

Hmmm your question poses a problem..
I notice there isn't a song list per se... I just can only click on the album and click play.........(as in the last 2 screenies)...

any idea how come?

Yea that's interesting. One thing you could try is removing your music library from Emby library setup, then running a full scan of all libraries to clean out the database, and then adding it back.

will do so now and scan overnight.
I'll post tomorrow when I get back from work..

This time I see the album, 8 tracks, but no listing of the actual tracks..

did you complete the full library scan?

Posted

also..shouldn't i see the actual track names?

on a side note.. I'm wondering if it's MS doing something with win 7 x64 pro that is NOT joined to a domain.

About 6 months back, it was acting wonky, so I just did a image restore, reminstalled emby,, and it's not been right since.  I not entirely sure it's a Emby thing...
I can read, write, modify etc..(full access) to all directories using windows explorer, so I don't think it's an account issue, so it' leaves me a bit confused. I'm not afraid to redo Emby a 3rd time if you think it will help. (when I have time between toddler "heaven" and work)...

When you recreated the library, did you give it the same name as before? If you did, as a test, would you mind going through the process again, except this time giving it a different name? I apologize that you have to do this, I'm just not sure what the issue is yet. Thanks.

Sure..will do first chance

Cleared the library.. added a new music library called Musics - same data path... \\nas1\media\music

Able to play back using web brower...

I've included the log file if helps to figure out why....

Also I did notice the last two entries were "Error creating Port Map"...

Is that a issue to be worried about? (uPnP is turned on with my Orbi router)
