Hi, I've decided to use the Emby as my first media server today,

installed via the docker.

I added some media to test, encountering some issues...

Here is my directory and some running environment

OS info

ubuntu 18.04

emby version

latest (2 months ago)

docker volume mapping info

/(path where my home)/emby/share/share1:/mnt/share/share1

file directory

/mnt/share/share1

  /01. Colorful Days (M@@ster VERSION).mp3

  /02. Day of the future.mp3   (it's symlink)
  /02. 何度も言えるよ.mp3

  /ANIMATION

    /THE IDOLMASTER (2011)

      /THE IDOLMASTER S01E01.mkv

      /THE IDOLMASTER S01E02.mkv

    /New Game! (2017)

      /s01e13.mp4

      /s01e13.smi

libraries that i made

- name: THE iDOLM@@ster

  type: songs

  folders:

  - /mnt/share/share1

- name: THE iDOLM@@ster ANIMATION

  type: TV series

  folders:

  - /mnt/share/share1/ANIMATION

- name: Mixed Contents

  type: mixed contents

  folder:

  - /mnt/share/share1

The Emby server is run by root.

and all files in /mnt/share/share1 (really one is /(my home path)/emby/share/share1) are owned by root:root with 644 permission,

all directories in the same path are owned by root:root with 755 permission.

the mp3 files are shown on library well.

but mkv and mp4 files doesn't appear in any libraries, since I follow naming conventions, I think...

I can see only empty folders in folder section.

I have scanned my libraries several times and

have changed video names such like 's01e01.mkv', 'THE IDOLMASTER - S01E01.mkv' etc.

I tried moving them into 'Season 1' folder, but not effective.

Is there something I missed? please help me.

and one more question

is there a way to collect videos without naming convention?

I want to see the game recording videos which isn't TV series or movies.

Hi, the answer is you can't use the same folder in multiple libraries with different content types:

/mnt/share/share1

They would each need their own unique folders. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
