proo4509 0
I used to run emby locally on my laptop and had my library of 400+ titles perfectly organized. But, i've just bought a NAS and moved my collection there. I've uninstalled emby server and installed a fresh one on the NAS. After scanning my library I ended up with 1700 folders instead of 400+ because all .ifo and .vob files of my ripped dvd's were recognized as separate movies, thus ending up with a library more than 4 times the size as it should be. see image.... Now, this didn't happen when i had it running locally, it changes when i had it installed on the server. How to fix this? (without converting all movies to mkv format...) Luke 37107
Hi there, do you have the dvd folders plugin installed?
proo4509 0
Yes, DVD and blueray disc support... (and more plugins, perhaps a conflict?)
proo4509 0
oeps... I thought to uninstall dvd and blueray plugin and reinstall them again to see if this would fix the issue, but i'm now running into this problem: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/80728-where-and-how-to-reinstall-the-folder-support-plugin/ Can't find the plugins on the server so can't reinstall them. I'v tried to follow this advice "they are in the system\plugins folder if needed, copy to programdata\plugins." But... can't find these folders on my NAS. What's the full path? or is there another way to reinstall both plugins? Edited March 2, 2020 by proo4509

proo4509 0
Ok, found them, but... don't seem to have access to copy the dll's to the /var/packages/EmbyServer/target/var/plugins/ I've logged in as admin so should have root access. but get the following error cp: cannot create regular file '/var/packages/EmbyServer/target/var/plugins/BlurayMounter.dll': Permission denied. Luke 37107
Now that you have the plugins, try running a library scan.

Luke 37107
Can you please give an example of the folder structure? Thanks.
proo4509 0
the collection and structure is the same as it was when i had emby running locally. The problem occured when i moved the collection to the nas and installed emby on the nas.
Luke 37107
Try removing that entire from the folder, then running a scan of all libraries to flush out the database, and then add it back.
proo4509 0
the images and the nfo file? This was just an example, I have al lot of movies that don't have extra files. But, i will try that. There's nothing weird in the log file?

proo4509 0
Ok, will try to uninstall and install for the third time.
Luke 37107
Instead of setting up your libraries using smb shares, try creating a local share in the operating system that points to the network path. Then add that local share into emby. I think it will work then.
proo4509 0
Emby doesn't let me add a local share, i get the error The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again. do i need to change a setting first?
Luke 37107
You just need to make sure the embysvr system user has permission to access the local path.
proo4509 0
Sure it has, but... am converting all dvd movies now to mkv.... I'm not to pleased with this, but it seems to be the only way.

If you're getting this error, it means the server does not have permissions on the local share. Having said that, you'll get a much better experience after converting to mkv.
