David 1
I've got MBS installed on one computer and all my content on another computer. I'm looking to retire the content computer and move the content to a new computer. This new machine will have a different computer name than the original. Updating MBS to point to the new server is relatively easy. My questions are: Will I lose my watched status as the content will be at a different network path? Is there a way to open the media database that MBS uses and run a SQL update statement to change the network server name of all my content? (this would be great as it would eliminate the need for a re-scan). Thank you, David
Solution Deathsquirrel 741 Posted June 23, 2014 Solution Share Posted June 23, 2014 For 1, as long as you have local metadata so the 'new' media has the same IDs as the 'old' media, your watched status will carry over. Only if there was a recognition error would you have a problem. Can't help on 2.
David 1
Yes I do have local metadata so that is perfect. Rescanning everything isn't a huge problem just thought it would be nice to avoid if I could. Thank you, David
