Thank you, I had the same issue after a reset of the mibox.

I had to change the name too to fix it.

Issue with non-English characters in device name is still there...

Device: Google TV AndroidTv 1.8.54g (Chromecast Google TV)

Server: 4.5.4.0

App refused to login with error until I renamed the device from Russian to just plain English.
