zBernie 15
I have a movie that is in the movies directory specified in the Emby library, but I can't find it in Emby. The movie is A Christmas Carol (1951).mp4. I can see the movie with similar title A Christmas Carol (1938).mp4. How can I get Emby to parse the missing movie? -Thanks
Solution daldana 47 Posted January 29, 2020 Solution Share Posted January 29, 2020 If that 1951 movie is the one with Alastair Sim as Scrooge, I have the same one. The metadata for it is IMDb - tt0044008 and TMDb -13188, it shows up on the metadata page with the "Original Title" as Scrooge. Hope this helps.
zBernie 15
That's it! I tried moving the movie, deleting the .nfo file, then moving it back to the movie folder, then refreshing the metadata, and it was found. But then I lost it again searching for "carol". That explains it! I prefer the 1951 version, but the 1938 version is good also, I recommend it.
daldana 47
Yeah, I really like the Alastair Sim version best. If I remember right, the 1938 version has Reginald Denny and is pretty good too, but Sim's facial expressions win it for me!
zBernie 15
It's Reginald Owen. We've been watching one of these two movies every Christmas eve for decades! About 30 years ago I noticed in the 1951 movie an obvious mistake. After Scrooge is visited by the spirits, and he's acting all giddy, look in the mirror in the wall and you can see a camera man. Great movie though.
