Option to show thumbs for movies on home screen

Hi,

 

I really like to show my movies in Thumb mode instead of posters. However most thumb are just showing a snap shot of the movie, like a scene. Is it possible to show nice thumb for all movies with lets say the title of the movie in the thumb it self and to look like a 'poster'. Similair to Prime Video. Posters looks great but my idea is to have these in thumb mode.

 

Is it also possible to have an option on how to show movies/series on enhanced media, poster or thumb?

The image uses whatever is available.   FanArt.tv is the only provider that provides proper Thumb images.  You will find a few Backdrops that are Thumbs via TMDB.  If no Thumb is available, you order the backdrop to your liking.

 

I don't believe all client have options to change image views like the web client.  But at the same time those views are not available everywhere either.

The thumb is what shows in Continue Watching so I've been making sure to create one for any film that doesn't have one. Takes time though. Should probably upload some of them to Fanart...

 

Some old silent films are literally just a cropped version of the title screen because nothing else is available though.

Well, I tried uploading some of my thumbnails to fanart.tv and they all got rejected because they're not up to their high standards, even though they're high-res scans of the original artwork. In one particular case they think a grungy effect on text is "bad quality" and refuse to be debated with.

 

So unless there's another source for those images, I guess they're going to remain absent for a lot of content.

HI, yes, more options to control home screen presentation are planned for future updates. Thanks.
