dmurphy22 8
Hey friends, I found a video file that will not hardware transcode, it falls back to software transcoding and causes a big slowdown on my server. Attached is the ffmpeg log showing this happening. Any ideas what might be happening here? ffmpeg-transcode-32f02f22-4417-4e53-96c5-b7585a9b0262_1.txt Edited January 15, 2020 by dmurphy22
Luke 37116
Hi there, have you followed our hardware acceleration setup guide?
dmurphy22 8
Hey Luke, sorry I should have mentioned it is just this file that seems to do it, all others will hardware transcode without a problem.
Luke 37116
Nonetheless it's still important to follow our setup guide. Did you do that?

As a workaround try this: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/78303-43013-hw-transcoding-fails-on-some-videos/?p=797207 At least you will have hardware encoding and your CPU will not be so overloaded.
