Hardware transcode failed, fell back to software and cause massive slowdown :)

Hey friends,

 

I found a video file that will not hardware transcode, it falls back to software transcoding and causes a big slowdown on my server. Attached is the ffmpeg log showing this happening.

 

Any ideas what might be happening here?

Hey Luke, sorry I should have mentioned it is just this file that seems to do it, all others will hardware transcode without a problem.

As a workaround try this:

At least you will have hardware encoding and your CPU will not be so overloaded.
