vhds 1
Is it possible to view movies that are in 4/3 in 16/9 ? In the Windows and the Amazon Emby apps, there is a stretch option when you watch the movie, but I haven't found it on Roku. Else, is it scheduled ? Thank you Edited January 13, 2020 by vhds
Gilgamesh_48 943
Your display device (TV) has that responsibility. It is not up to Emby to destroy the vision of the director by stretching the aspect ratio and distorting the picture. If you wish to murder the aspect ratio it is up to you but it is your TV that must do the damage.
speechles 1917
It is possible to include a ZOOM button on Roku. The problem is the Roku video player does not conform to the cropping rectangle of the group it is within. I have tested this extensively trying to get a working ZOOM for Roku. Once you exceed the 1920x1080 boundaries of the screen the clipping rectangle of the group is responsible for keeping the render within the box. But because this is a video node within a group it is not actually cropping the video layer to fit that box. It exceeds bounds and produces vertical slanty lines. The problem is say you have a 4x3 show you ZOOM up to 16x9 to fill the screen. The very top and bottom should normally get cropped off. In this case they are not. This overloads the video player memory and it starts to render slanty lines. The more you ZOOM into this the more overload the video player memory becomes. It is almost like the video layer once scale beyond the size of 1920x1080 resolution is unusable. We can only use scale to shrink the video to perhaps make it a small corner of the screen while still allowing navigating of the live TV guide or browings the interface.
