I trust I am following the right protocols on raising this question.

I have an Emby Server running on my Raspberry Pi4, all ok. The Raspberry Pi4 has an IQAudioDAC+ attached and then I have speakers running from  the IQAudioDAC.

I spend most of my time on a Linux Desktop using the Emby Web App. Even though the content is comes from the Raspberry Pi, any audio is played through the desktops miserable audio output.

I have read into PulseAudio, MBD, RDP, DLNA.........................

All I want to do is select something to watch or listen to at the desktop but with the audio being routed though to the Raspberry Pi and hence through the decent speakers.

Any suggestions, guidelines or previous experience would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, my suggestion would be to open the web app on your RPI, and then also on your linux desktop, and use the desktop to remote control and play on the RPI web app.

Alternatively, for a more robust video player, you could use Emby Theater on the RPI:

And then it's the same idea, using the linux desktop to remote control it via the web app.
