Text formatting in metadata manager no longer works for TV Shows

I have long used some text formatting (I think it's HTML( to make certain text fields standout out more. I do this from the metadata manager by adding code such as <i><b><font color=orange> to change the formatting of a tagline in a movie, for example.

A recent update to Emby Theater (for PC and also for XBox) has removed this from TV shows and certain other categories (Collections, for example) and the code is no longer interpreted. I'm currently on 3.0.10 for ET for PC. I don't remember the XBox version, but the latest.

For some reason, it seems that anything that is considered a movie still reads the coding and does the formatting.

Is there any way to bring this back? I spent a lot of time inserting these codes in text fields inside the metadata, and losing them is a pain and means I have to go back and clean up all the coding again.

Thanks.

Hi, this has never been officially supported but we had to remove it recently when it was discovered that it could be used as a javascript injection attack.

I think it would be nice to support some level of formatting and we can look to accommodate that in the future. thanks.

Hi Luke.

Thanks for the info.

I knew it wasn't a "feature" as such, but it's definitely a nice way to personalize the interface. Supporting some level of formatting would be a big plus for me.

Just wanted to let you know, just installed the latest (not beta) version 4.4.2.0 and at least a simple <br> for a line break (still || again) works. So you can get at least some formatting done. Helps me get stuff at least readable in there. :-)

Thanks. It apparently accepts some simple coding in all versions of server, but this is one of the things Luke changes without changing the server version. I use italic <i>, bold <b> and line breaks <br> but it ignores any text color code.

If you use any of those codes in the Overview section and then refresh the metadata they get stripped out, but the same codes in the Tagline remain.
