schmitty 65 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hi, Could scraping mkv's for cover_land.(jpg/png) for thumbnails be added, and used as a higher priority than cover.(jpg/png) for thumbs... also use cover.(jpg/png) as the poster. I am in the process of re-repping my bluray and DVD collection, and using the media cover as cover.jpg and extracting the thumb (using ffmpeg) as cover_land.jpg for the episode thumb or using fanart as the movie landscape.jpg. 2
ebr 15555 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hi. What system uses that naming convention?
schmitty 65 Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 That's in the matroska specfication, for embedded cover art. https://www.matroska.org/technical/cover_art/index.html 2
SikSlayer 239 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 +1 it'd be helpful if this functionality was added. Especially since it's a part of the matroska spec. 1
schmitty 65 Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 (edited) I don’t think it would take too much time/effort to implement either. I’m guessing it would also cut down on library scan times too, as it would only have to probe the container for the embedded image, rather than having to invoke the screengrabber or downloaders. There are a lot of interesting and useful features in the matroska spec. A lot of them don’t get used though, which is a shame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 39417 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Well we don't extract two images, only one.
schmitty 65 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 That's the point of this FR, to implement the extracting of the second image.
