gergtreble 0
I believe I have Emby set up to write all metadata as sidecar files in the media's own folder. But I have a 32GB metadata/library folder! Whats in there and can I remove it?
Luke 37360
Downloaded images, thumbnails if you enabled them, chapter images if you enabled them.
gergtreble 0
Thanks Luke. None of my libraries are configured to store thumbs or chapter images. When you say downloaded images, what would that include? And why would they not be saved in the media folder as a sidecar file? What would happen if I deleted this folder? Would it get recreated at the same size after a full library scan?
Solution Luke 37360 Posted October 5, 2019 Solution Share Posted October 5, 2019 It won't get recreated. You may just find yourself missing a lot of images in the user interface. But you could try deleting it and then running a scan.
gergtreble 0
Thanks, I'll back it up and see what happens if I rm -rf * it. Cheers!

Happy2Play 8409
Depending on how old your installation is you will loose all of your Cast and Crew/Artist images as they are now stored in metadata/library.
