aruna.atapattu 0
Hi all, I have slow internet and want to know whether I can transcode my iptv stream to SD quality? Most of the channels are HD/FHD with 50fps and I want to convert it to SD with 25-30fps. Is this possible? If so how to do it? Thank you all. Appreciate if anyone can help. ebr 14912
Hi. Which part of your internet is slow? If it is the download speed TO your server, then transcoding these streams will not help as the source will still have to be downloaded over that pipe. In that case, you'll need to seek lower quality streams from the source. If, instead, it is the upload away from your server (serving remote apps) then, this may be possible by limiting the bitrate for remote connections. Please let us know if this answers your question. Thanks.
aruna.atapattu 0
Thank you for the quick response. Yes it’s the slow download and upload. 5-7mbps download and 1-2mbps upload. So transcoding first it download in its original quality to server and then convert so the client can download the converted file. Is that how it works?
