tiff1002 7
Hi all not sure this is the right place or not but here goes. So I recently set up an emby server on a VM running Windows server 2019 that is a file server. It is running on an ESXi host I rent in a data center and I love it. So much I bought the lifetime premium membership which is not the kind of thing I usually do. Anyway everything works great so far for the most part, but there is something I was wondering about. I wonder if it is possible to prioritize one or two of the users on the server so if say I made a few accounts for some friends and the server was struggling because too many people were trying to stream at once that it would prioritize my account or me and my partner's account and either be laggy or not work for the other people that are not us. May be just a fantasy but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask Thanks in advance. PS I'm not too worries about cpu got more than enough there ram and or bandwidth could be an issue maybe idk yet
ebr 14959
Hi. No there is no way to do this at this time. You can limit remote bandwidth for all users, though.
rbjtech 4330
Hi. No there is no way to do this at this time. You can limit remote bandwidth for all users, though. .. depending on your internet upload speed and media bitrate, that usually has the opposite effect as it causes remote users to transcode instead of direct-play. The other possible route is an access schedule (set per user) - so you could block them access during 'peak' hours for example if it becomes a problem.
