Looks identical to the error here,

@@softworkz

Is something messed up again or the same issue?

@@swenth

We many need this information.

Something must be going wrong with the version check.
Emby is actually requiring a min build version or 23026 only. If it detects 23026 or anything greater, nothing should actually happen.

Could you please export the following registry keys:
  •
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\VC\Runtimes\x64
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\VC\Runtimes\x86
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\VC\Runtimes\x64
  • HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\VC\Runtimes\x86

Is the OS 64 or 32 bit?
Are you running a 64 or 32 bit version of Emby?

Thanks

Hi @@swenth, you don't need to kill it. I would just be patient and give the server time to finish loading. Does that answer your question?

Did you try refreshing the page in the web browser? Can you please attach the emby server log? thanks.

I don't understand that sentence.

Have you managed to install the MS VC runtime?

Did you reboot after installing?

After that, does the popup asking to install VC runtime still appear? Or is that part fixed now?

Uninstall all VC Runtimes from Control Panel >> Programs and Features

Reboot

Install the latest VC runtime from MS (nothing else)

Reboot

Check whether it's fixed

That is a every version installed on the machine over time.  @@softworkz is VC++ backwards compatible?  If so all previous versions can be uninstalled.  Otherwise remove 2017 and reboot, then reinstall.

that a screen capture

Ah, sure, I haven't seen the context.

VS 2015, 2017 and 2019 are compatible.

So uninstall the 2015-2019 x86 and the 2017 x64

Then reboot. Then install the two from the links I posted.

FWIW: My system had a hiccup during the last install where it just failed without issuing any error and Emby would not start at all. I simply repeated the install, I made no other changes, and after the install completed everything was again fine.

I have observed no instability at all after the second install.

The only thing allowed to be unstable in my house is me.
