Enabling PGSSUB format subtitle track results in playback failure

Playing back movie on the browser with PGGSUB subtitle format results in playback failure on browser than doesn't occur on other clients.

Dialog is "Playback Error: No compatible streams are available. Please contact your system administrator for more details"

Also HDR content is not being converted to normal colour space when being played back on a non-HDR device in browser. This results in washed out colours.

Hi, this is because web browsers do not support PGS subtitles, therefore the only way to play them is to burn them into the video with transcoding. But in your case, it looks like your server machine is unable to do this fast enough to be playable and that's why you get the error.

Burning in subtitles is a very taxing process even for powerful machines. It's generally something you want to avoid. I would suggest using external srt subtitles. Our subtitle download feature might be able to help you acquire them.

And/Or you can use a different Emby app for playback that can play the PGS subtitles without transcoding, such as Emby Theater for example.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
