2008 Mac Pro as an Emby server?

I would like to run Emby server on a 2008 mac pro. The mac pro has 8 cores (2 x 2.8 GHz Quad Core 45-nm Intel Xeon E5462 (Harpertown/Penryn) processors). It's been upgraded to 16gb of ram. The graphics card has been upgraded to a EVGA GTX 970 SC.

I usually have 2 transcoding streams at any given time. The transcoding is primarily TrueHD audio transcoding.

Would this be sufficient, as a server, for my needs?

Thanks!

Hi, what version of MacOS does this run? Emby Server requires 10.12+.

Hi, thanks for the reply! Because the graphics card was upgraded, it's currently running High Sierra (10.13)

Great, it sounds to me like you'll probably be fine with that then.
