Emby channels asking for password when playing a video.

Even though I dont have a password configured on my emby local account, every time I choose a video to play from emby channels via shield I get asked to type a password.

 

How would I turn this off?

Hi, are you sure it's during video playback and not when opening the app? What exactly does it say?

I want to share the picture I took but I am on my mobile now and I can't.

 

All I do is navigate on emby channel, click on a video to play and before it plays it prompts to add a password. I used to have a password on my local account but I disable it. Since then I have this issue, I stopped playing videos from emby channel.

Strange. That makes it look like you're getting signed out. We'll see what @@ebr thinks.

 

What version of emby server are you running?

Where, exactly, are you "choosing a video to play"?  On one of the rows on the device home screen, perhaps?

 

What happens if you just open the Emby app from the Emby tile in the Apps row?

I will make a small video and show you. If I open emby from the apps works well, only when I choose a video from the channel grid I get the password prompt.

Okay, a couple questions for you:

 

1) Is the user it is asking for a password on, the correct user that you always log in with?

 

2) What is your login behavior (Start Up settings) set to in the app? 

 

3) There is also a checkbox for "Remember password" there.   Is that checked?

Okay, a couple questions for you:

The user is enabled and doesn't have password configured. It had a password in the past, but, eventually I removed the password from the user. 

 

2) What is your login behavior (Start Up settings) set to in the app? 

 

The start up behaviour is to sign in with this user automatically.  I only have one user configured.

 

3) There is also a checkbox for "Remember password" there.   Is that checked?

 

I haven't seen a checkbox to be honest, where is the checkbox? In the password prompt? I will check the app and tick the box again.

I went back and checked the settings. I didn't had "sign in automatically with user". I set to sign in with the user automatically and now it works. It doesnt asks for a password.

This has resolved it for me. I was too quick jumping to conclusions.
