Tool to fix bulk subtitle header mixup?

Hi folks,

I've recently ripped a large number of cartoons to individual MKV files. Folders and folders worth. The problem is, Emby is showing subtitles whenever one of them plays. Of course I can turn off the subtitle each time a cartoon plays, but that's annoying and not family friendly. I must have screwed something up with MKVToolnix when splitting the files.

If I look at it in MKV ToolNix GUI, it appears as though for the VobSub stream, there isn't a default yes/no element present ("This element is not currently present in the file..", and this is being interpreted as "default yes." The other text stream is "S_Text/UTF8" and does have a default status set to NO.

Is there a tool to MASS FIX the entire folder worth of files (think, hundreds) to add the default element for VobSub and set it to NO, so that Emby won't trip up over the missing element and assume default behavior of showing subs?

I've used the Toolnix utilities here and there but am far from an advanced user of them. I can fix one file at a time, sure with the GUI but don't know how to apply changes to multiple files at once.

Thanks in advance!

Just google "mkvtoolnix recursive" for whichever OS you're running it on.  Plenty of examples of how to do recursive edits from the command line.
