daneast 0
Hi all. I'm very new to Embly. I have Embly Server running on an Android box that I will be using in my camper for boondocking / off-grid media serving. This seems to be working fine, however, when the Android box is offline, most thumbnail images don't appear when browsing media via the HTML client (I get HTTP 500 errors, "Error: NameResolutionFailure"). When I put the Android box back online (online to the internet, to be specific) then the images can be retrieved and show up. So it acts like these images are not cached on the Embly box, but are retrieved by Embly from the internet on demand and then passed to the HTML client. Is that the expected behavior, or should these images be cached permanently along with my media and metadata? Is there a way to force them to cache? Currently my cache / metadata paths are the defaults, so it may be running out of app data storage space on the device itself. Perhaps I need to move these paths onto my external drive that houses my media? Thanks!
Luke 37008
Hi, yes this is by design. You can configure this in emby library setup so that it downloads images ahead of time during the library scan. Please note that changing this will not retroactively affect existing content. And also please note that this won't apply to people images. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. Thanks, I see two options: "Save artwork into media folders" and "Save thumbnail images into media folders". Is the artwork setting the one I need? Luke 37008
No, it's the option to "download images in advance".
daneast 0
No, it's the option to "download images in advance". I see it now - I had to enable "Show advanced settings" to see it. So even if I select "Scan library" it will not retrieve these images? It sounds like I need to remove this media library and add it again for the images to be retrieved?
