abescalamis 82 Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 I saw that the notes for the latest beta, and I just wanted to make sure I understood. Does it mean that I will be able to use the subtitles from Kodi and save them in the same folder as the Movie. if so, those are awesome news, I always used the Native mode for that reason, but if the above is true I will switch to addon mode, instead and use my cinema mode feature. My last question will be if there is any performance speed difference between addon and Native mode, when all of my kodi clients connect through LAN. Thank you,
Angelblue05 4131 Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 Yes that is correct. There is no noticeable speed penalty anymore between add-on and native playback if you direct play your content (disable Force http under the add-on settings > playback) so that Kodi accesses the file over local or network paths (like with native playback mode). 1
abescalamis 82 Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) FYI, I switched to add-on mode, I have a big library and moving through movies fast feels a bit more smooth and posters load faster. So, if I need to use it outside LAN I will only need to enable force http? After changing the server address of course. Edited May 10, 2019 by abescalamis 1
Solution Angelblue05 4131 Posted May 11, 2019 Solution Posted May 11, 2019 (edited) All you'd need to do is restart Emby for Kodi when you are outside your network. That should be it. It will automatically connect remotely and playback will be done via your server. Edited May 11, 2019 by Angelblue05 1
