Unless you had a tuner that gave you access to DRM Channels, Emby will usually support anything your tuner supports (HDHomeRun, IPTV, etc..) or side loaded something (WMC, etc..) for the DRM Channels. Now, we can support certain cable company encrypted channels via a tuner with a Cable Card, but not true DRM ones (e.g. HBO, Showtime, etc.) at this time. Perhaps you are thinking of WMC? Many channels are encrypted but have no DRM and those channels as @@ebr says can be viewed in Emby utilizing a CableCard equipped tuner. Assuming your provider doesn't suck like mine ...
