jad3675 26
I upgraded to 4.1.0.26 when it became available. Now I have an issue with m3u streams - when I tune to a channel it will loop the same 8/10 seconds. I did not have this issue with 4.0.2 (and I did have the 'loop' checkbox checked under the tuner). If I restart the emby-server service, the issue goes away...until it returns. Ubuntu 18.04 Amazon FireTV App I haven't verified that this issue occurs with other apps. ffmpeg log attached. Luke 37994
Hi, is it always that amount of time?
jad3675 26
Hi, is it always that amount of time? Yes, it's about 8/10 seconds, so the stream moves forward (ie, it'll go from second 1-8 the first few loops, then it will advance 2 seconds and loop that and rinse, repeat), so it does make progress but it never completely clears. On 4.0.2, I'll get a loop every now and then on a stream, but it does continue forward. John
hshah 19
I had something similar recently and it was down to the use of m3u8: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/71971-problems-playing-m3u-spinning-on-all-devices/&do=findComment&comment=729488

I'm starting to wonder if it is my provider - I'm going to switch it out and see if there is any difference. John
Carlo 4337
Try playing the stream in VLC and see if it has the same issue outside of Emby.
jad3675 26
Try playing the stream in VLC and see if it has the same issue outside of Emby. It doesn't - and this issue doesn't happen in 4.0.2 of Emby - it started with the betas when other iptv (IPTV resiliency) issues were fixed around 4.1.0.17. BillOatman 521
I see this as well from time to time. I don't need to restart the emby server to correct, usually just changing to a different channel then back corrects it.
ZUZAxNADADOR 0
same happens to me, emby for windows ver 4.1.0.26, and using on android, cromecast and web
jad3675 26
I changed providers and have not had a looping issue. John
BillOatman 521
I changed providers and have not had a looping issue. John For my provider some live sports streams can loop. MLB can sometimes be pretty bad, while NHL is usually pretty good for me at least. But it does seem to be a provider thing.
Carlo 4337
Are you guys sure it's a provider thing and not just the format being used? By switching providers you might have switched from M3U to TS format. Every provider I've used allows you to change this in the M3U request line. Only one support .m3u, too.
Carlo 4337
Nope, both providers are .ts for me. Only one support .m3u, too. Good to know. Could you PM what provider(s) you are having a problem with and maybe a particular channel if you know one off hand. Good chance I might have that provider and can do some testing. ddurdle 75
I can concur. I tested today on 4.1.1.0 and witnessed the looping in the emby log for an attempt to play a .TS stream that was not working. It loops forever, until emby is restarted.
Luke 37994
For the next release it will eventually give up after a certain number of consecutive failures. Thanks.
ddurdle 75
What is the status of this? I tried the latest emby 4.3.1.0 on a test server. I didn't encounter a bad channel, but at some time yesterday I believe as user did, because the IPTV provider has blocked all traffic from the server, and they indicated it detected a DDOS coming from the emby. So assumption this was not fixed yet?
Luke 37994
Can you pm me the server log? Thanks.
